Review: Mrs Serial Killer is a murder mystery starring Jacqueline Fernandez, Manoj Bajpayee, and Mohit Raina released on Netflix over the weekend. This original film also marks the digital debut of Zayne Marie who plays the character named Anushka Tiwari.
“You haven’t seen the torture yet, now you’ll,” the actress, Jacqueline spoke in bad-temper at her victim with a pointy knife in her hand at the start of the movie. A psychological thriller Mrs Serial Killer may be a senseless, silly, absurd story of a trendy, glamorous wife who departs to prove that her husband isn’t a serial killer. Whereas the charges are being cruel and completely false.Dr. Mrityunjoy Mukherjee aka national award winner Manoj Bajpayee may be an honourable respected gynaecologist who got married to Sona aka glamourous Jacqueline Fernandez. Mrityunjoy is arrested for the charges of brutally murdering 6 pregnant women. Once the small town admired him as a renowned gynaecologist, turns against him overnight.
While nobody complies with taking hold of his case, then Mrityunjoy asks his wife Sona to satisfy an old, documented lawyer Brij Rastogi aka Darshan Jariwala.
We saw early in the movie that each one of the characters isn’t well with Sona.
We saw early in the movie that each one of the characters isn’t well with Sona.
In one of the film’s opening scenes, Sona decides that the simplest thanks to telling her husband that she is pregnant and to pretend that her house has been broken into by his ex-boyfriend Imran ( Mohit Raina) while he’s away. And he was there to steals the DNA evidence against Sona’s husband. Like virtually every scene within the film, it’s staggeringly ill-conceived.
The audience can find it funny when they will see that the lawyer Rastogi comes in the hearing via video call without even notify the Judge or prosecution. After the initial hearing, the lawyer confesses that the evidence does indeed seem to be stacked against Sona’s husband and comes up with the foremost preposterous idea. He tells Sona that to clear her husband’s name, she must commit a copycat murder, in order that everyone thinks that the killer remains out there.
The idea seems to be correct theoretically. A wife deranged with grief resorts to crime to save lots of her husband. But sadly, wrapped in the director’s wrong thought Mrs Serial Killer became a burst of laughter. Sona is crushed and whines about her life being unfair, but decides to commit murder a must, after all, she loved her husband.
If we come to the performances of Manoj Bajpayee as joy, that can give you a bit of excellence in acting, though the script was too poor to showcase his actual skills.
Other than that every supporting actor does justice to their roles but an actor like Darshan Jariwal, Mohit Raina should need a better screenplay or story at least. Moreover, at the beginning, the plot of the movie seems to be healthy but later on, it loses its control. Though the director made a final attempt to corrected his mistakes in the last half an hour of the movie it was too late.
The worst part of the film that it was talking about anti-single moms, anti-adoption, and anti-pre-marital sex.
In the modern era, this is not just an anti-progressive thought and a shame that can carry out the audience throughout the movie as well as in society.
But die-hard fans of Manoj Bajpayee and Jacqueline Fernandez can mark it a one time watch for this lockdown period.
