Rabindranath Tagore and Gulzar two poets from different entente but they have relations in many ways. Gulzar even said there is no other example that a person became the cultural ambassador of a whole community. As per him, Tagore is an exception. He got great influences from Tagore who changed his life but how?
The Dreamers is all set to celebrate Tagore’s inspiration, his existence in Gulzar’s creative journey. The musical “Two poets” will reveal some unknown aspects of their artistic bonding which will be set to stage on 16 August 2019 on Gyan Manch, 6 PM onwards. The journey would feature some common elements like love for Monsoon, their philosophy of life, passion for love, and work for children and so on. Eminent choreographer Sudarshan Chakravorty and noted presenter Roopsha Dasgupta would tell the stories which are basically from Gulzar’s own interviews from the past.
Singers like Rupankar Bagchi, Chandrima Bhattacharya would render some of the magical creations of Gulzar composed by Salil Chowdhury, R.D.Burman, Kanu Roy, Ilayaraja, Ustad Amzad Ali Khan, while Srabani Sen would offer some gems from Tagore both relate Gulzar’s journey with Tagore. Gulzar even translated Tagore’s works in Hindi followed by he penned the Hindi script for the light and sound show for Jorasanko Thakur Bari on Tagore. Tagore lives within his creative mind, inspires him, nurtures his artistry in various ways. Sudipta Chanda is responsible for the concept while Angshuman Bhattacharya penned the script for the musical “Two Poets”.
