Neeraj Pandey is returning to the crime-thriller space with a new Netflix series titled Taskaree: The Smugglers Web, reuniting the filmmaker with the streaming platform for yet another high-stakes drama. The series will feature Emraan Hashmi in the lead, marking their first collaboration in the web-series format.
Netflix announced the project on Monday, releasing a short behind-the-scenes video that offers a glimpse into the scale and setting of the production. The clip shows Pandey directing key sequences across multiple locations, while teasing a sprawling underworld of smuggling operations. Emraan Hashmi is seen playing a determined coast guard officer tasked with dismantling a powerful criminal network. Sharad Kelkar also makes an appearance in the footage, hinting at a pivotal role.

Created by Neeraj Pandey, Taskaree: The Smugglers Web continues his exploration of grounded, investigative storytelling—an approach that has defined his earlier works such as A Wednesday!, Special 26, Baby, and the Special Ops franchise.
Produced by Friday Storytellers, the series marks Pandey’s third collaboration with Netflix, following Khakee: The Bihar Chapter and Khakee: The Bengal Chapter. For now, the makers are keeping plot details tightly under wraps.
