Vicky Kaushal’s historical epic Chhaava has achieved a remarkable milestone, crossing the coveted Rs 500-crore mark at the Indian box office. The film, directed by Laxman Utekar, has garnered an impressive Rs 508.8 crore nett in India within just 23 days of its theatrical release, according to industry tracker Sacnilk.
A Historic Feat in Bollywood
With this achievement, Chhaava joins an elite list of Bollywood blockbusters that have breached the Rs 500-crore barrier. It becomes the sixth Hindi film to accomplish this feat, following the successes of Jawan, Pathaan , Animal and Stree 2.
A Strong Box Office Run
The period drama opened to a phenomenal response, collecting Rs 219.25 crore nett in its first week. Its momentum remained strong in the second week, adding another Rs 180.25 crore nett. By the third week, the film continued its steady performance, amassing Rs 84.05 crore nett. On its fourth Friday, the film earned Rs 8.75 crore nett across all languages, with Rs 6.25 crore nett coming from the Hindi version and Rs 2.5 crore nett from its Telugu-dubbed release. The following day, Saturday, saw a jump in collections, bringing in Rs 16.5 crore nett, with Hindi contributing Rs 13.5 crore nett and Telugu adding Rs 3 crore nett.

Set against the backdrop of the Maratha empire, Chhaava sees Vicky Kaushal portraying the titular role of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, with Rashmika Mandanna playing his wife, Maharani Yesubai.
