October 4 is observed as World Animal Welfare Day. It is celebrated to create awareness about animal welfare around the world. So, here are a few celebrities, who are also pet parents, sharing their love for animals and urging others to help in improving the welfare standards of animals globally.

Dhruvee Haldankar: I am a proud parent of my cat, Aslaan. He is my life companion. On this World Welfare Animal Day, I feel we should all increase awareness and educate others about creating a world where animals are always recognized as sentient beings and full regard is paid to their welfare. There are many parts of the world where a lot has been happening – torturing animals, killing them for food, etc. World Animal Welfare Day is a wonderful reminder of different ways in which animals enhance our lives. We should take care of the animals and mother nature, otherwise, we will be in a world where no human will exist.

Rishina Kandhari: World Animal Welfare Day aims to improve animal welfare standards worldwide through the support and involvement of individuals, groups, and organizations that care for and love animals. This is the reason it is also known as “Animal Lovers Day”. I have a cat with me. They only ask for your unconditional love and in return, they give you loyalty for life. This week, Amazon Prime Video delights its viewers with a slew of exciting titles including the most anticipated world premiere of the suspense thriller, Nishabdham. Gandhi Taari Beek Chhe Baaki Badhu Theek Chhe showcases their quest to bring about this transformation in society. Nishabdham is a largely silent film and is known to have nuances from Kamal Haasan’s 80’s silent-comedy film Pushpak. The director mentioned that while writing the script of the film, he wanted to write a horror thriller with lots of twists and turns, but because he is a huge fan of Pushpak, silence plays an important aspect of the film.

Hollywood actor Michael Madsen’s weakness of limping to his advantage in the film

When Hollywood actor Michael Madsen reached the set with a sprained leg, producer and writer Kona Venkat along with the director Hemanth Madhukar decided to add that to the storyline. Since Michael was shown to be in the early 70s or 80s in the film, it was planned to show him limping throughout the film which stood out brilliantly in his favor.

The music composition with world-class cellist of Budapest (Europe)

Different ragas were explored to create the relatable music of the film, which is very distinct from the usual background score. Girish Gopalkrishnan has given a tremendous background score for both Tamil and Telugu versions. In order to create something impactful and unusual which would perfectly complement the film, songs like Gruham, Ninne Ninne, and Neeye Neeye were composed. Netflix announced its first Tamil film, Paava Kadhaigal. Directed by Gautham Menon, Sudha Kongara, Vetri Maaran, and Vignesh Shivan, Paava Kadhaigal explores how love, pride, and honor influence complex relationships through four intricate and beautiful stories. As narcissistic and emotionally challenged as the leader of The Seven – Homelander can be, we see a shift in the dynamism and his power being threatened this time. Leading to a host of complicated standpoints, it is the actor Anthony Starr who seems to have portrayed this convoluted character effortlessly.

Speaking on one of the most bizarre scenes, Anthony Starr says, “There is a scene in the fourth episode of Season 2 in which Homelander thoroughly confronts himself after some self-reflection. He finds some resolve and new layers to his own character.” The scene that Starr is talking about is when Homelander faces his worst enemy, himself. The strange sequence gives a deeply-rooted and yet a messed-up psychological imploration, giving Homelander a taste of his own medicine. Without further spoiling the appalling and hysterical scene, Starr continues, “It was very fun to play and discover the bizarre psychological aspects about the character. I think the audience will have fun watching Homelander confront himself.”

Being the absolute menace that he is, one could have never imagined that there’ll be a day where we would strangely feel for the terrifying psychopath Homelander. For us as audiences, it’s scenes like these that become a visual treat as well as providing one ample food for thought.
