Actor Aniruddh Dave, who recently wrapped up the film Bell Bottom with Akshay Kumar in England, is back in Mumbai and will be now seen in a popular daily show Lockdown Ki Love Story.
Speaking about the new development of this journey Aniruddh says,” In my career, I have always tried to do different things. My latest role should always be different from my last work. Different in each way – the look, variations, and my approach towards the role. As an actor, I want to use different techniques in each role. I wanted to work with Rashmi Sharma Telefilms for so long and finally, that is happening so I am happy.”
Aniruddh will be seen portraying a role called Raghav Jaiswal – details for which will be revealed soon.
He also adds,” The character has a certain kind of heroism which I have liked. A grey shade that audience will get to see me in. I am sure the audience and fans will love me in this avatar, it will be a treat to watch Raghav Jaiswal. I want this character to be loved by all.”
Aniruddh and his wife Shubhi are going to parents soon and he is a bit nervous on that front as he says,” I am not nervous role-wise because with time and experience you know how confident you are in front of the camera. I am excited to be part of Lockdown Ki Love Story and tense too because we are pregnant now. And working in a pandemic situation is not easy, I have to be extremely careful for me and Shubhi both. Akshay Kumar sir has already taught us to be careful on set and how we can work well in this pandemic situation. I have done that first in June when unlock happened and then we went abroad to shoot Bell Bottom. Fingers crossed and we all have to come out from our homes and start working.”
Television heartthrob, Shoaib Ali is adored by his fans for his performance as the notorious and powerful Ray in Sony SAB’s Baalveer Returns. The actor has been charming us with his dashing looks and striking performances as Baalveer’s biggest nemesis in the new underwater world of the show.
Marking a new chapter in Baalveer’s life, the new season also takes the viewers through Baalveer’s college life where Dev Joshi along with Shoaib Ali and Anahita Bhooshan are seen in their casual best. Shoaib Ali, who plays the role of Ray, recently witnessed a transition where he emerged as the most powerful opponent that Baalveer has ever come across. The transition revealed Shoaib’s new avatar.
Essaying the role of the biggest threat from the underwater world of Shinkai, he will now be seen in a supervillain look. Shoaib, who has an edgy and classic style in real life, enjoys transforming into this royal fantasy look for the show.
Talking about his character and new look, Shoaib shares, “This is my first fantasy show and as a child, I was always fascinated with the fictional characters with powers. Playing the character of immensely powerful Ray is like a childhood wish coming to life. Ray is young, charismatic, and handsome, but there is more to him than meets the eye. The new-look has been beautifully created with the utmost precision and care. It includes all the elements of water and makes the character look royal and edgy. This new transformation of Ray is massive as he now possesses ultimate power against Baalveer.”
Sharing his thoughts on his new outfit, he further added, “It was a lot challenging for me to wear the costume the first day since I am not used to wearing an outfit that has so many accessories and parts to it. But as I went through the day, I got used to it. I observed how the costume does justice to my character’s transition. Ray’s look includes the subtle elements of water blended into a warriors outfit. The hints of silver, bronze, and blue in the outfit along with the headgear showcase the royal background of Ray. To give the character an edgier look, the headgear has been specially created to set the character apart. The look makes me look like a powerful prince.”
Every character in a story has a particular style that their viewers relate them with.
Shoaib sharing his thought on the same, added, “Outfits play a major role in defining a character and the artiste as well. Our viewers recognize us in that attire and look. As an artiste, it helps me get into the character. As Ray keeps moving from Earth to the underwater world, he also changes his avatar. This change will be evidently seen through the change in outfits. It takes me around an hour to get into the look but I can say it is totally worth it.”
“Ray is notoriously playful yet intense and I am entirely opposite to him. I am a lot composed. I was initially worried about the kind of reactions I would receive but it has been a heartwarming feeling to see everyone love my character. Ray has made me step outside my boundaries as an artiste and it has been a great experience so far,” shares Shoaib.

Karishma Tanna Get Us Grooving To The Tunes Of Basanti From Suraj Pe Mangal Bhari
Setting the tone for fun, in the upcoming rib-tickling comedy Suraj Pe Mangal Bhari, is a crackling special dance number titled Basanti. Recently, the makers released the scintillating number Basanti has all the makings of a chartbuster.
The song stars Manoj alongside Karishma Tanna. One can also catch a glimpse of Abhishek Banerjee dancing in full fervor. The track is Karishma’s first-ever dance number in a Bollywood song. Dressed in a shimmery red gown, Karishma looks drop-dead gorgeous.
The one person who will be hard to spot in the video is Manoj, who looks nothing like himself. Playing a wedding detective in the movie, the song features him wearing a prosthetic look. With a full face, pointed nose, and heavy pot belly, Manoj is almost unrecognizable.![]()
Usually, known for his intense performances, the actor is seen letting his hair down and having a good time at the song-and-dance-routine this time around. The song written by Danish Sabri, sung by Javed-Mohsin, Payal Dev, and Danish, and composed by Javed-Mohsin, choreographed by Vijay Ganguly is a fun number that will make it certainly make it to every party playlist this Diwali.
Talking about it, Abhishek tells us, “It was a quintessential fun party number. In this film, the songs are a crucial part of the narrative. It’s hard to reveal the setting without giving the plot but Manoj is on a work assignment and we wanted him to have a blast on it. It was a joyride shooting this. It’s a catchy track and I hope it’s one of those numbers that gets people dancing to its tunes.”
Actor Manoj Bajpayee added, “I would have liked to explore dance in movies more but there was little scope for it in my choice of movies. I did enjoy dancing to the catchy beats of Basanti. It reminded me of Satya. I am not a big fan of dancing but I surely don’t mind when it facilitates the storytelling like in this track. I did have a good time after all and I hope people enjoy this little surprise from me”.
The film, directed by Abhishek Sharma, produced by Zee Studios is a lighthearted family entertainer releasing this Diwali starring Manoj Bajpayee, Diljit Dosanjh, and Fatima Sana Shaikh.
Geetu Mohandas’ Atmospheric Crime Drama Moothon To Be The Closing Film At IFFM 2020
The Indian Film Festival of Melbourne (IFFM) 2020 that went virtual this year owing to the ongoing pandemic, officially closed its special eleventh edition with the screening of Geetu Mohandas’ visceral and imaginative film Moothon that stars Malayalam actor Nivin Pauly in lead, along with Shashank Arora, Sobhita Dhulipala, Roshan Matthew amongst others.
The film that is co-written by Anurag Kashyap along with Sreeja Sreedharan and Geetu herself has been lauded widely for the novelty of its idea and Rajeev Rai’s brilliant cinematography. Geetu’s last outing Liar’s Dice was celebrated and even became India’s entry to Oscar that year.
Moothon, however, is the story of a young boy who swims across the ocean from Lakshadweep to Mumbai in search of his elder brother. The city’s grime entraps him and he ends up in Kamathipura. The plot examines a host of ideas starting with cross-dressing, gender, identity, and the prevalent notion of destiny. Balancing realism and symbolism effectively, Mohandas tells a potent tale of love, loss, identity, and a sense of belonging.
Festival director, Mitu Bhowmick Lange said, “It’s a poignant film that speaks to you at a very human level. At its core is a tender same-sex love story, which touched our hearts. Yearning for your loved ones and feeling the pangs of separation has been a lingering mood this year. There’s no better time to watch Moothon. We are elated to have the movie be the finale film at the Festival because of its distinct voice and the narrative itself encapsulates the vibe of diversity which is so precious to us.”
Like every year, the festival this year too, IFFM offered over 60 films in 17 languages including shorts, feature films, and documentaries made locally and worldwide.

Netflix Unveils The Official Trailer For Much-Awaited Season 4 Of The Crown
Netflix unveils the official trailer for the highly anticipated season 4 of The Crown, featuring a first chance to hear the distinctive voice of Margaret Thatcher, played by Gillian Anderson, and the enchanting tone of Lady Diana Spencer, played by Emma Corrin.
Season 4 picks up in the late 1970s. Queen Elizabeth (Olivia Colman) and her family find themselves preoccupied with safeguarding the line of succession by securing an appropriate bride for Prince Charles (Josh O’Connor), who is still unmarried at 30.
As the nation begins to feel the impact of divisive policies introduced by Britain’s first female Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, tensions arise between her and the Queen which only grows worse as Thatcher leads the country into the Falklands War, generating conflict within the Commonwealth.
While Charles’ romance with a young Lady Diana Spencer provides a much-needed fairytale to unite the British people, behind closed doors, the Royal family is becoming increasingly divided.
Speaking about his portrayal of the two most powerful women in the country of that time, Writer Peter Morgan explains “It could be said that they are two very similar women, born only months apart. They are very much defined by the Second World War, by a sense of frugality, hard work, commitment, Christianity and so much more. It was a commonly held piece of wisdom that the Queen and Thatcher didn’t get on.”
He further added, “I think there was probably a lot of respect. But they also had many differences, it was really fun exploring their differences and their similarities. I also get a chance to explore them both as mothers. Writing Thatcher and the Queen as mothers was probably an angle that no one has explored before. But it yielded one of my favorite episodes in the season.”
On creating the character of one of the most iconic Royals, Peter shares, “Diana now has a historical perspective. I am really conscious of that. I really don’t want to get too close so that what I do is journalistic. I really want to make sure that there is enough distance so that if you tell the story of Diana it can almost be something else. It can have metaphorical resonance.”
Written by Peter Morgan, The Crown‘s fourth season also stars Helena Bonham Carter as Princess Margaret, Tobias Menzies as The Duke of Edinburgh, Erin Doherty as Princess Anne, Emerald Fennell as Camilla Parker Bowles, Marion Bailey as the Queen Mother, Georgie Glen as Lady Fermoy, Tom Byrne as Prince Andrew, Angue Imrie as Prince Edward, and Charles Dance as Lord Mountbatten. Stephen Boxer also features Denis Thatcher alongside Rebecca Humphries as Carol Thatcher and Freddie Fox also feature as Mark Thatcher.
The Crown Season 4 launches globally on Sunday, November 15.
