The makers of Border 2 unveiled the much-anticipated teaser on Tuesday, coinciding with Vijay Diwas, offering a stirring glimpse into a story rooted in courage, sacrifice and national pride. Headlined by Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh and Ahan Shetty, the film positions its protagonists as soldiers prepared to defend India at all costs.
Running over two minutes, the teaser opens with Sunny Deol’s commanding voice setting the tone. His character issues a stern warning, declaring that any attempt to breach India—by land, sea or air—will be met by an Indian soldier standing guard. The narrative then shifts to visuals of Varun, Diljit and Ahan in uniform, representing the army, navy and air force, as they face the brutal realities of war with grit and resolve.
The teaser culminates in a powerful exchange, with Sunny’s character asking how far their voice should reach, followed by the soldiers responding in unison, “Lahore tak.” The moment reinforces the film’s emphasis on fearlessness and unity during wartime.
Actresses Sonam Bajwa, Mona Singh and Medha Rana are also seen in the teaser, adding emotional layers to the otherwise combat-heavy visuals. Sharing the teaser on social media, T-Series described it as a tribute to the spirit of Vijay Diwas, calling it one of the year’s most awaited previews.
Border 2 revisits the legacy of the 1997 blockbuster Border, which depicted the Battle of Longewala during the 1971 Indo-Pak war. In the original film, Sunny Deol portrayed Major Kuldeep Singh Chandpuri, alongside an ensemble cast that included Suniel Shetty, Jackie Shroff, Akshaye Khanna and Tabu.
The teaser was launched at a special event in Mumbai, attended by Sunny Deol, marking his first public appearance following the passing of his father, Dharmendra. Varun Dhawan and Ahan Shetty joined him on stage, along with director Anurag Singh and producers Bhushan Kumar and Nidhi Dutta. During the event, Sunny spoke about the emotional weight of returning to the Border universe, noting that wearing the uniform once again brought both pride and responsibility. Varun and Ahan reflected on working alongside him, with Varun highlighting the impact of the “Lahore tak” dialogue, while Ahan shared advice he received from his father, Suniel Shetty, before joining the project.
Also starring Medha Rana, Mona Singh, Anya Singh and Sonam Bajwa, Border 2 is scheduled to release in theatres on January 23, 2026, just ahead of Republic Day.
