Bringing together three of Bollywood’s most celebrated actors — Alia Bhatt, Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal — the film is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated releases in the coming year.
Offering a fresh update on the project, Alia Bhatt recently revealed that the film is approaching the final stages of production. The actor shared the news while attending Milan Fashion Week 2026 as a global ambassador for a luxury fashion brand. During a conversation with Vogue Italia, she reflected on the experience of working on the film and confirmed that the shoot is almost complete.
Alia described the journey of filming Love & War as a memorable one, calling the process “magical” as the team moves toward wrapping up the production. The project also marks a meaningful reunion between the actor and Bhansali, following their acclaimed collaboration on Gangubai Kathiawadi in 2022. Her performance in the film earned widespread praise and went on to win her the National Award, making their creative partnership particularly special.
Speaking about working with the celebrated filmmaker once again, Alia expressed deep admiration for his artistic vision and storytelling style. She shared that collaborating with Bhansali is a rare opportunity and one she feels grateful to experience again.
The film also brings together Bhansali and Ranbir Kapoor after many years. Their earlier collaboration dates back to Saawariya (2007), which marked Ranbir Kapoor’s debut in Hindi cinema. Over the past few months, the film’s release date has been the subject of considerable speculation. While it was initially expected to arrive in theatres during the Christmas 2025 season, reports later suggested a possible shift to March 20, 2026. Although Ranbir Kapoor had earlier hinted at a delay, recent updates indicate that the makers remain focused on bringing the film to audiences in 2026, putting aside rumours of a much later release.
Meanwhile, Alia Bhatt continues to balance a busy slate of projects. She was last seen in Jigra (2024) and will next appear in the action thriller Alpha alongside Sharvari and Bobby Deol, which is also scheduled for release in 2026.
