Akshay Kumar, R. Madhavan, and Ananya Panday are set to star in a forthcoming film centered on the remarkable life of lawyer C. Sankaran Nair. Known for his courageous legal fight against the British Empire in the 1920s, this untitled project is adapted from the book The Case That Shook the Empire by Raghu Palat and Pushpa Palat.
Slated to hit theatres on March 14, 2025, the untitled film explores a pivotal chapter in India’s struggle for freedom, focusing on a legal confrontation that followed the tragic Jallianwala Bagh massacre. This film is produced by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions, in collaboration with Akshay Kumar’s Cape of Good Films and Leo Media Collective. This film will also mark the directorial debut of writer Karan Singh Tyagi.

Dharma Productions took to social media to tease the film, describing it as an “unknown story, an unheard truth,” highlighting the gripping narrative that revolves around the shocking cover-up of a massacre that propelled C. Sankaran Nair into a fierce battle against the British authorities. Reports indicate that Akshay Kumar will portray a character who confronts the British government in the wake of the infamous Jallianwala Bagh Massacre.
R Madhavan, fresh off his performance in Shaitaan, will feature prominently alongside Akshay, while Ananya Panday, following the success of her projects Call Me Bae and CTRL, adds another feather to her cap with this movie.
