In a significant move addressing the growing misuse of celebrity identities, the Delhi High Court has granted legal protection to Allu Arjun by issuing an ex parte ad-interim injunction in his favour. The order safeguards his personality and publicity rights, preventing any unauthorised commercial use of his identity.

The court made it clear that Allu Arjun’s name, image, and voice are exclusively his, and cannot be used without his permission. It also extends protection to his signature dialogue delivery style and distinctive gestures, which have become widely popular, especially after the success of Pushpa. These elements are now legally recognised as part of his public persona.

This ruling applies across platforms, including digital content and physical merchandise. It directly addresses the increasing misuse of his likeness through AI-generated content, deepfakes, and unlicensed products being sold in the market. Over the past couple of years, such practices have reportedly grown, with several entities using his popularity to promote products without any formal approval.

The court’s decision highlights how personality rights are becoming increasingly important in today’s digital age. With advanced technology making it easier to replicate voices and visuals, public figures face a higher risk of identity misuse. Legal protection like this ensures that celebrities retain control over how their image is used and prevents unfair commercial exploitation.

Beyond the legal development, Allu Arjun is also gearing up for his next film, Raaka, which is expected to feature Deepika Padukone in a key role. The project will be directed by Atlee Kumar, marking their first collaboration, with music by Sai Abhyankkar.

The court’s order not only brings relief to the actor but also sets an important example for the entertainment industry on protecting personal and digital identity.
