The veteran singer breathed her last in Mumbai, where she had been admitted to Breach Candy Hospital following health complications linked to age. While initial reports suggested cardiac concerns, family sources later confirmed that a combination of exhaustion and a chest infection had led to her deteriorating condition. Despite close medical supervision and sustained efforts by doctors, she could not recover. Her passing was confirmed by the family on Sunday, with medical officials citing multi-organ failure as the cause of death.

Her final rites will be performed at Shivaji Park crematorium, while her mortal remains will be kept at her residence for fans and well-wishers to pay their last respects.
Born as Asha Mangeshkar in Sangli, Maharashtra, into the illustrious Mangeshkar family led by Pandit Deenanath Mangeshkar, her journey into music began early. Alongside her equally legendary sister, Lata Mangeshkar, she would go on to define an era of Indian playback singing that remains unmatched in its cultural impact.
Asha Bhosle’s career, spanning over seven decades, is a testament to her extraordinary adaptability and artistic fearlessness.
