Akshay Kumar, known for being extremely diverse while choosing his roles in Bollywood, is yet again up with his upcoming movie Raksha Bandhan.
Sharing a beautiful behind the scene of the movie with Anand L Rai on his social media account, Akshay quotes “Growing up my sister, Alka was my first friend. It was the most effortless friendship. Anand L Rai’s Raksha Bandhan is a dedication to her and a celebration of that special bond.”
The shooting of the movie has already been started under Anand L Rai’s direction whose recent work was Shah Rukh Khan and Anushka Sharma starrer “Zero”.
Actress Bhumi Pedneker will be seen in the lead, opposite Akshay Kumar in the movie. This is for the second time when the duo is going to romance each other onscreen.
Earlier the much-celebrated duo was seen in the movie “Toilet: Ek Prem Katha”. Both the actors are much loved and admired onscreen couples whose chemistry never failed to attract and indulge audience in theatres.
Actor Sahejmeen Kaur, Deepika Khanna, Sadia Khateeb, Smrithi Srikanth will be seen playing the role of Akshay’s sister in the movie.
Khiladi of Bollywood, Akshay Kumar has dedicated this movie to his very beloved sister Alka Hiranandani. This Hindi language, comedy-drama film is written by Himanshu Sharma and Kanika Dhillon. The story revolves around the love, bonding, and attachment between brother-sister. Raksha Bandhan is presented and distributed by Zee Studios in association with Alka Hiranandani and Anand L Rai.
It is produced by Colour Yellow Production in association with Cape of Good Films. The film was officially announced last year on the 3rd of August to mark the special occasion of Raksha Bandhan.
The release date of the movie is yet to be announced. Meanwhile, Akshay Kumar and Anand L Rai will be collaborating for their next Project “Atrangi Re”, a romantic drama film that stars actress Sara Ali khan and actor Dhanush. The movie’s motion picture shared by the actors has already created a lot of buzz among the fans.
