Tamannaah Bhatia is revisiting a chapter that shaped a defining phase of her career. Joining the viral “2016 is the new 2026” nostalgia trend, the actor recently shared a carousel of unseen throwback photographs that transport fans straight back to the Baahubali era — a time when the magnum opus was rewriting box office history and redefining spectacle in Indian cinema.

Taking to Instagram, Tamannaah added personal notes to each image, turning the post into a visual diary. The photographs range from her horse-riding training for Baahubali and rehearsal moments for performances, to quieter, more personal frames — unwinding after long shoot days with her pet, celebrating award-night milestones with her parents, and candid photoshoots during promotions. From experimental haircuts to floral dresses and playful red-carpet expressions, the post captures a version of Tamannaah that feels both nostalgic and refreshingly unfiltered.

The timing of the throwback couldn’t be more fitting. Fans are currently celebrating another major milestone in Tamannaah’s career — her bold dance number Aaj Ki Raat from Stree 2 has crossed a staggering one billion views on YouTube. Marking the moment, the actor shared behind-the-scenes clips from the shoot, offering a glimpse into the fun and spontaneity on set. In one video, she is seen reviewing a take on the monitor with choreographer Vijay Ganguly, cheekily refusing another retake with a playful “No!” In another, she performs the hook step as co-stars Pankaj Tripathi, Rajkummar Rao, Abhishek Banerjee and Aparshakti Khurana enthusiastically follow her lead.

The song, sung by Madhubanti Bagchi and Divya Kumar with lyrics by Amitabh Bhattacharya and music by Sachin–Jigar, has emerged as one of the most talked-about tracks of the year, further cementing Tamannaah’s ability to command the screen across genres.

Looking ahead, Tamannaah is preparing for a genre shift with VVAN: Force of the Forest, a mythology-rooted thriller set in the forests of Central India. Directed by Deepak Mishra and Arunabh Kumar, the film stars her opposite Sidharth Malhotra and is slated for a theatrical release on May 15, 2026.

As nostalgia fills social media feeds, Tamannaah’s 2016 throwback serves as both a reminder of how far she has come and a marker of the momentum she continues to carry forward — effortlessly balancing reflection with reinvention.
