Even as Ram Charan remains busy with his upcoming projects, fresh reports suggest he could be gearing up for an ambitious new collaboration this time with filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali. If materialised, the project is expected to bring together two distinct cinematic sensibilities for a large scale period adventure.
According to a report by Gulte, Bhansali is planning a historical adventure drama set against a dense jungle backdrop, with Ram Charan being considered for the lead role. The film is said to be envisioned as a period thriller, blending action with Bhansali’s signature visual grandeur.
The script for this project has reportedly been developed by writer Durgesh Singh, known for his work on projects like Gullak 2 and Shakti Shalini. Sources suggest that the story has been expanded into a full length narrative suitable for a top tier star. While Bhansali is believed to be keen on casting Charan, it is still unclear whether the actor has officially been approached or has heard the script.
Interestingly, this is not the first time the two names have been linked. Earlier, there were discussions about adapting The Legend of Suheldev by Amish Tripathi, with Bhansali at the helm and Charan in the lead. However, that project did not progress beyond initial talks.
At present, the collaboration remains speculative, with no official confirmation from either side. Meanwhile, Bhansali is currently focused on his next directorial, Love & War, starring Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, and Vicky Kaushal in leading roles.
On the other hand, Ram Charan was last seen in Game Changer, directed by S. Shankar. Looking ahead, Charan will next headline Peddi, directed by Buchi Babu Sana. The sports action drama stars Janhvi Kapoor as the female lead, alongside Shiva Rajkumar and Divyendu in pivotal roles.
