Rajkummar Rao is gearing up for yet another compelling role, this time as a ruthless gangster in his upcoming film Maalik. Scheduled for a theatrical release on June 20, 2025, the crime drama is helmed by director Pulkit and produced by Kumar Taurani under Tips Films, alongside Jay Shewakramani’s Northern Lights Films.
The announcement was made by Tips Films on Saturday with a striking poster featuring Rajkummar Rao, captioned: “Poore pradesh aur desh pe RAJ karne aa rahe hain MAALIK! @RajkummarRao in and as #Maalik. Rao, known for his versatility and powerhouse performances, was last seen in Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video alongside Triptii Dimri. His recent outings, including Stree 2, Srikanth, and Mr & Mrs Mahi, have further cemented his position as one of Bollywood’s most bankable actors.

Maalik was first announced on the occasion of Rajkummar Rao’s 40th birthday, with the actor sharing a teaser poster and the caption: “#Maalik ki duniya mein aapka swagat hai. Shoot shuru ho chuka hai, jald hi mulaqat hogi.” Since then, anticipation has been building around the film, which is now in its post-production phase.
