Irrfan Khan has been admitted to ICU at Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital in Mumbai after his health all of a sudden deteriorated. The actor is right now under observation for a colon infection.
A statement which is given by actor’s official spokesperson that, “Yes it is true that Irrfan khan is admitted to ICU at Kokilaben in Mumbai because of a colon infection. We would keep everyone updated. He is under doctor’s observation now. His strength and courage have helped him battle and fight so far and we are sure with his tremendous willpower and prayers of all his well-wishers, he will recover soon”.
His spokesperson also added, “It’s really disappointing to know that there are extreme assumptions being made about Irrfan’s health. While we are truly appreciative that people are concerned, it’s disheartening to see some sources spread extreme rumours and creating panic. Irrfan is a strong person and is still fighting the battle. We really request you to not fall for rumours and not partake in these conversations which are fictional. We have always actively clarified and shared updates on his health and we will continue doing so.”
Actor’s wife Sutapa and their two sons are with him as always. According to the source that Irrfan was hospitalised since last week. His regular check-up was getting affected due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
In 2018, Irrfan Khan announced that he had been diagnosed with a Neuroendocrine Tumour and travelled abroad for the treatment. Recently the actor lost his mother, Saeeda Begum who was 95. Unable to travel for his mother’s last rites, he had attended her funeral via video call. Earlier this year the actor appeared to the big screen with Homi Adajania’s “Angrezi Medium” when the theatres all over the country shut down within the days of its release. And recently this film was released on Disney+ Hotstar.
