Ibrahim Ali Khan, the son of Bollywood actors Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh, is all set to make his much-anticipated acting debut under the banner of Dharma Productions. The announcement was made by filmmaker-producer Karan Johar on Wednesday, who took to Instagram to share his excitement about the young actor’s foray into Bollywood.
Karan Johar’s Nostalgic Trip Down Memory Lane
In a heartfelt note, Karan Johar reminisced about his longstanding relationship with the Pataudi family. He recalled his first meeting with Amrita Singh, whom he affectionately referred to as “Dingy,” and their warm camaraderie. Karan shared how he first met Amrita when he was just 12 years old while she was working on the film Duniya (1984), produced by his father, Yash Johar. He praised her for her elegance, energy, and commanding presence on screen, but what stood out the most to him was the warmth she extended to him, treating him like family from the very beginning.
Similarly, Karan spoke about his first meeting with Saif Ali Khan at filmmaker Anand Mahendru’s office. He described Saif as young, suave, charming, and effortless—qualities that, he believes, Ibrahim has inherited as well. Over the years, Karan has worked closely with the Pataudi family on multiple projects, including 2 States with Amrita Singh, Kal Ho Naa Ho and Kurbaan with Saif Ali Khan, and Simmba with Sara Ali Khan. The filmmaker expressed his deep affection for the family, emphasizing that cinema runs in their blood.
