Actor Emraan Hashmi is back in action as he returns to the sets of his highly anticipated Telugu debut They Call Him OG, after recovering from dengue. The actor, who was diagnosed with the illness on May 28, has now fully recovered and resumed shooting in Mumbai.

Sharing an update with fans, Emraan expressed his gratitude and excitement. “I am back in action, and it feels good! I took some time off to recover from dengue, but now I am fully recovered and back on set,” he said. He also extended heartfelt thanks to his fans and well-wishers: “A big thank you to everyone for all the love and thoughtful messages! I am excited to get back to the hustle and bring something exciting to the screen soon.”

They Call Him OG marks a significant milestone in Emraan Hashmi’s career as he steps into the Telugu film industry for the first time. The film stars Power Star Pawan Kalyan in the lead and is being touted as a gripping gangster action drama.

The production house, DVV Entertainment, had earlier announced that the film is set for a global theatrical release on September 25, 2025. Taking to their official X (formerly Twitter) handle, they wrote:
“FIRING WORLDWIDE in cinemas on 25th September 2025… #OGonSept25”

Directed and written by Sujeeth, They Call Him OG features a star-studded ensemble including Priyanka Arul Mohan as the female lead, Sriya Reddy in a powerful role, and veteran actor Prakash Raj. The film promises a stylized yet emotionally intense cinematic experience, with a narrative described as “a feast of a massacre.”

With its high-octane action sequences, a compelling storyline, and a powerful cast, the film has already created significant buzz. The music is composed by S Thaman, adding another layer of intensity to the film’s atmosphere.

Originally slated to release in September last year, the film faced delays due to scheduling issues. Now, with the new release date locked and Emraan Hashmi back on set, the production is gearing up to deliver one of the most awaited action dramas of 2025.

As fans eagerly await the release, all eyes are on They Call Him OG, a project that not only marks a powerful collaboration but also brings Emraan Hashmi into the dynamic world of Telugu cinema.
