Actor Allu Arjun appeared virtually before a Hyderabad court on Monday in connection with the Pushpa 2 premiere stampede case. After hearing the matter, the court adjourned the proceedings to July 29.
The actor was unable to attend the hearing in person as he is currently shooting for his upcoming film, Raaka. His legal team had sought permission for a virtual appearance, citing his outdoor filming schedule. Several other individuals named in the case were also absent during the hearing.
The case stems from the tragic incident that occurred during the premiere of Pushpa 2 at Hyderabad’s Sandhya Theatre in December 2024. A massive crowd had gathered outside the venue to catch a glimpse of Allu Arjun, leading to a stampede in which a woman lost her life, while her nine-year-old son sustained serious injuries.
Following the incident, Hyderabad Police registered a case against more than 20 individuals, including the actor. Investigators have alleged that Allu Arjun failed to comply with police instructions during the event. The matter remains under judicial consideration.
While the legal proceedings continue, Allu Arjun is busy filming Raaka, a high-budget sci-fi entertainer directed by Atlee Kumar. The film reportedly features Deepika Padukone in a pivotal role, with the actor expected to sport a completely new look for the project.
After completing Raaka, Allu Arjun is expected to begin work on his next film, tentatively titled AA23. The pan-India action entertainer will be directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, while Anirudh Ravichander has been roped in to compose the music.
Meanwhile, industry buzz suggests that Lokesh Kanagaraj has conceptualised a special promotional video featuring Allu Arjun to unveil the actor’s new avatar. The teaser is expected to serve as the first glimpse of the project ahead of production, which is reportedly scheduled to commence early next year.
As the Pushpa 2 stampede case proceeds through the courts, fans are also eagerly awaiting updates on Allu Arjun’s ambitious slate of upcoming films, with Raaka and AA23 generating significant excitement across the industry.
