The wait is finally over for fans of the much-loved comedy franchise. Filmmaker Rohit Shetty has officially announced the release date of ‘Golmaal 5’, revealing that the fifth instalment will hit theatres on January 8, 2027.
Rohit Shetty shared a new poster featuring Ajay Devgn riding a motorcycle, with Arshad Warsi, Shreyas Talpade, Tusshar Kapoor, Sharman Joshi and Kunal Kemmu squeezed onto the same bike behind him. The entire gang can be seen smiling at the camera, perfectly capturing the fun, madness and chaotic energy associated with the franchise.
Sharing the poster, Rohit wrote, “LAUGHTER, FUN, JOY, HAPPINESS AND FAMILY… BAS, NOTHING ELSE. 8TH JAN 2027.”
The upcoming film brings back several familiar faces from the franchise, including Ajay Devgn, Arshad Warsi, Shreyas Talpade, Tusshar Kapoor, Kunal Kemmu and Sharman Joshi. Akshay Kumar is also joining the cast, marking his entry into the ‘Golmaal’ universe.
The franchise began in 2006 with ‘Golmaal: Fun Unlimited’, followed by ‘Golmaal Returns’ in 2008, ‘Golmaal 3’ in 2010 and ‘Golmaal Again’ in 2017. The fifth film arrives nearly two decades after the series began.
Rohit Shetty, who has directed all five films, returns to the director’s chair, with Ajay Devgn continuing as one of the central faces of the franchise.
Kunal Kemmu, who joined the series with ‘Golmaal 3’, had earlier confirmed that the team was shooting for the new film and described returning to the much-loved characters as a nostalgic experience.
Akshay Kumar’s addition brings a new element to the franchise. According to reports, he is set to play the antagonist opposite Ajay Devgn and the returning ensemble.
With its familiar cast, new addition and signature comic chaos, ‘Golmaal 5’ is now set for a theatrical release on January 8, 2027.
