While the investigation remains central to the narrative, the series also delves into the emotional aftermath of violence, exploring themes such as grief, guilt, human depravity, and the impact of a single act on multiple lives.

The newly released trailer opens with a haunting close-up of a pair of eyes accompanied by a chilling burst of laughter, immediately establishing the show’s tense atmosphere. Viewers are introduced to Babu, played by Akash Makhija, and Rajjo, portrayed by Ramandeep Yadav. Through a series of intense flashes and fragmented glimpses, the trailer reveals aspects of their troubled pasts and the circumstances that shaped their actions.

Running parallel to their story is the relentless pursuit led by SI Jayprakash, played by Ali Fazal. As the investigation intensifies, the officer finds himself in a race against time to track down the duo, setting the stage for a gripping confrontation between law enforcement and two elusive suspects.

Raakh is directed and executive produced by Prosit Roy. The series has been created, written, and co-directed by Anusha Nandakumar and Sandeep Saket, while Ayush Trivedi has penned the dialogues.

The ensemble cast includes Sonali Bendre, Ali Fazal, and Aamir Bashir in prominent roles, alongside Akash Makhija, Ramandeep Yadav, Divya Sharma, Vivaan Sharma, Anshul Chauhan, Rakesh Bedi, and Dibyendu Bhattacharya.

Speaking about the creative vision behind the series, creators, writers, and co-directors Anusha Nandakumar and Sandeep Saket said that their intention was to go beyond the conventional framework of a crime thriller. They emphasized that while mysteries and investigations are important, what often remains with audiences are the human emotions surrounding them.

According to the filmmakers, Raakh was conceived as an exploration of grief, guilt, love, anger, and the emotional consequences that follow a crime. Rather than focusing solely on solving a mystery, they sought to examine how a single incident can alter the lives of everyone connected to it. For them, the central question extended beyond identifying the perpetrator and instead examined the emotional scars left behind in the aftermath.

With its blend of suspense, psychological depth, and emotional storytelling, Raakh aims to offer viewers a crime drama that is as much about human relationships as it is about investigation and justice.
