Hrithik Roshan has reportedly been approached by filmmaker Laxman Utekar for a new project, even as the actor remains occupied with an exciting slate of upcoming films. According to a report by Variety India, Utekar is keen to collaborate with the superstar after the release of his upcoming directorial, Eetha. However, Hrithik is yet to respond to the proposal, and no official confirmation has been made.
Currently, Hrithik’s primary focus is on the pre-production of Krrish 4, a landmark project that will mark his directorial debut. Jointly backed by Aditya Chopra and Rakesh Roshan, the much-awaited superhero film is one of the actor’s biggest career milestones, with preparations already underway.
Before dedicating himself entirely to Krrish 4, Hrithik will also make a special cameo appearance in Rajinikanth’s Jailer 2. Reports suggest the actor completed filming his portions on June 22 and 23 in Chennai. The appearance is particularly significant as it reunites Hrithik and Rajinikanth on screen 40 years after they shared screen space in Bhagwaan Dada.
Directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, Jailer 2 is scheduled to release in theatres on October 15. The film stars SJ Suryah, Ramya Krishnan, Vidya Balan, and Yogi Babu, while Mohanlal, Shiva Rajkumar, Vijay Sethupathi, and Mithun Chakraborty will also make cameo appearances.
Meanwhile, Laxman Utekar is gearing up for the release of Eetha, which arrives in cinemas on August 28. The biographical drama chronicles the life of celebrated Marathi Lavani and Tamasha artist Vithabai Narayangaonkar and features Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub and Randeep Hooda in key roles, with music composed by Ajay-Atul. The teaser has already generated significant buzz among audiences.
While Utekar is reportedly eager to cast Hrithik in his next directorial venture, the actor’s packed schedule leaves the collaboration uncertain for now. As things stand, there has been no official update from either Hrithik Roshan or the filmmaker regarding the reported project.
