Shraddha Kapoor completes filming for Vithabai Narayangaonkar biopic Eetha

Actor Shraddha Kapoor has reportedly wrapped up shooting for Eetha, the upcoming biographical drama inspired by the life of legendary Tamasha performer Vithabai Narayangaonkar. The film’s final schedule was recently completed with a large-scale montage song sequence shot in Bhor, Maharashtra.

According to reports, the grand sequence featured Shraddha Kapoor alongside nearly 800 background performers and is expected to showcase the emotional arc of her character’s life — tracing her rise from humble beginnings to fame, followed by the personal struggles she faced later in life.

The concluding schedule reportedly marked the end of a 60-day shoot that began earlier this year in March. The production was carried out across multiple locations in Maharashtra, including Madh Island in Mumbai, Solapur, Aundhewadi, Satara and Nashik. The montage song, along with several dance sequences in the film, has reportedly been choreographed by celebrated choreographer Vaibhavi Merchant.

Shraddha Kapoor had reportedly started filming for the project in November 2025. Eetha also marks her first collaboration with filmmaker Laxman Utekar and producer Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Films. Excitement around the film had begun shortly after a picture of the film’s clapboard surfaced online, sparking curiosity among fans eager to see the actress in a completely new and performance-driven role.

The film is inspired by the extraordinary journey of Vithabai Narayangaonkar, regarded as one of the most iconic names in Marathi folk theatre and Tamasha performance art. Known for her remarkable stage presence and immense contribution to the traditional art form, Vithabai’s life was marked by both immense acclaim and deep personal challenges.

With Eetha, Shraddha Kapoor is expected to portray one of the most layered and emotionally intense characters of her career. The film aims to bring the story of the legendary artiste and the cultural significance of Tamasha to a wider audience through a cinematic retelling rooted in music, dance and drama.
