Ram Charan’s ‘Peddi’ Locks June 4 Release Date

The makers of Peddi have officially confirmed a new release date, putting an end to ongoing speculation around the film’s arrival in theatres. The Ram Charan-led project is now locked for a grand release on June 4, a move that has already reignited excitement among fans.

Earlier, there was considerable buzz that the film might arrive around June 25, a window that would have brought it close to Akkineni Akhil’s Lenin. However, the team behind Peddi ultimately decided to avoid a box office clash. Reports suggest that Ram Charan himself was keen on steering clear of a direct release overlap, especially given his friendly equation with Akhil.

With major portions of the film already completed, the makers felt June 4 was a strategically strong choice. The date not only avoids competition with other big releases but also places the film neatly within the lucrative summer holiday season, traditionally considered a high footfall period for cinema.

Adding to the anticipation, the team recently wrapped up a lavishly mounted special song featuring Ram Charan and Shruti Haasan. The track has been composed by AR Rahman, and was shot on an extravagant set in Hyderabad. Industry buzz suggests that the vibrant number could emerge as one of the major highlights of the film.

Directed by Buchi Babu Sana, Peddi is shaping up to showcase a striking new version of Ram Charan. The director has revealed that the actor underwent an intense transformation, training continuously for nearly eight months. The role demanded more than just physical preparation—Charan reportedly immersed himself deeply into the character, working on body language, appearance, and emotional expression to achieve authenticity.

His rugged “pehelwan” physique has already become one of the most discussed aspects of the film, signaling a raw and grounded screen presence very different from his recent outings.

Touted as a rustic sports drama with strong emotional undertones and high-intensity action, Peddi is expected to highlight a powerful and reinvented avatar of Ram Charan, driven by grit, transformation, and larger-than-life storytelling.
