Actor Kay Kay Menon is set to entertain audiences in a completely new avatar with Adarsh Baal Vidyalaya, an upcoming comedy-drama series that will premiere on Prime Video on July 24. The seven-episode show promises a mix of humour, emotion and inspiring moments as it tells the story of a struggling school determined to rewrite its future.
Created by Biswapati Sarkar and Sameer Saxena under the Posham Pa Pictures banner, the series has been directed by Himank Gaur. Alongside Menon, the cast features Archana Puran Singh, Naveen Kasturia, Prasanna Bisht, Abhimanyu Singh, Deven Bhojani, Ajitesh Gupta, Annapurna Soni and Prachee Shah in key roles.
The story revolves around Gyaneshwar Tripathi, played by Kay Kay Menon, an unconventional and carefree headmaster whose life takes an unexpected turn when he sets his sights on securing a prestigious government-sponsored training programme in Cambridge. In an effort to improve his chances, he begins working towards transforming one of the city’s lowest-ranked schools with the support of an equally eccentric team of teachers.
As the educators attempt to revive the institution, they encounter several obstacles, including inadequate infrastructure, undisciplined students, indifferent parents and everyday administrative struggles. Despite these setbacks, the team remains committed to proving that dedication and teamwork can make a meaningful difference in the lives of students.
Talking about the series, creators Biswapati Sarkar and Sameer Saxena said the idea emerged from a desire to explore the realities of schools that often go unnoticed despite the relentless efforts of teachers and staff. They added that while the narrative is packed with humour and quirky situations, it also celebrates resilience, optimism and the belief that every institution deserves a second chance.
Adarsh Baal Vidyalaya will stream exclusively on Prime Video in Hindi with English subtitles from July 24, reaching audiences in India and over 240 countries and territories worldwide.
