Kartik Aaryan Donates ₹1 Crore for Assam Flood Relief

Actor Kartik Aaryan has extended financial support to the flood relief efforts in Assam by contributing ₹1 crore to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund. His donation comes as the northeastern state continues to grapple with the aftermath of devastating floods that have affected thousands of families.

Acknowledging the contribution, the official X handle of the Assam Chief Minister’s Office shared a message thanking the actor for his timely assistance. Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma also expressed his appreciation, stating that Kartik’s contribution would play a significant role in supporting relief and rehabilitation efforts for those impacted by the floods.

The Chief Minister described the actor’s gesture as generous and noted that the assistance would help strengthen the state’s ongoing response to the humanitarian crisis.

Kartik’s contribution adds to a growing wave of support from members of the entertainment industry. In recent days, several celebrities have appealed for aid and encouraged relief efforts in the flood-affected regions. Actor Alia Bhatt urged people to contribute towards rehabilitation initiatives, pointing out that Assam faces severe flooding almost every year. Singer Papon also appealed to the public to extend support, while actor Bhumi Pednekkar used social media to spread awareness about the crisis. Salman Khan, through the Being Human Foundation and his fan network in Assam, has also organised the distribution of food and essential supplies for affected communities.

Although water levels have started receding in parts of the state, the situation remains serious. According to the latest figures released by the Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA), the floods have claimed 78 lives, while lakhs of people continue to be affected across multiple districts.

On the professional front, Kartik Aaryan was recently honoured with the National Award for his performance in the 2024 sports drama Chandu Champion, adding another milestone to his career even as he steps forward to support relief efforts during a time of crisis.
