Big Collaboration Alert: Akshay Kumar, Rana Daggubati Join Hands for New Project

A new big-ticket collaboration is quietly taking shape in Indian cinema, bringing together two powerful screen presences from different industries. Akshay Kumar and Rana Daggubati are reportedly set to headline an upcoming pan-Indian film, backed by Karan Johar.

The project will be directed by Chandoo Mondeti, who previously gained attention for Karthikeya 2, a film known for its mythological themes blended with modern storytelling. Following a similar approach, this new film is expected to draw from India’s rich cultural and historical roots, while presenting it on a larger cinematic scale.

According to reports, the story will be set against the backdrop of Ujjain, a city known for its deep spiritual and mythological significance. The narrative is said to explore elements of history and tradition from the region, woven into a high-stakes thriller format.

Akshay Kumar, who has often shown interest in stories rooted in Indian culture, is believed to have come on board soon after hearing the script. His previous collaboration with Rana Daggubati in Baby is also said to have made this reunion an easy decision.

For Rana, this film could mark an important turning point. After projects like Virata Parvam and Spy, the actor has been relatively selective, making brief appearances in films such as Parasakthi and Mirai. With this new venture, he is expected to return in a more prominent role, aiming to reconnect with audiences on a larger scale.

The film is currently in the pre-production stage, with the team working on finalizing key elements before making an official announcement. There are also reports that another major star could join the cast, though details remain undisclosed for now. If all goes as planned, this collaboration could add another ambitious title to the growing list of pan-Indian films that blend mythology, history, and large-scale storytelling.
