Akshay Kumar Undergoes Eye Surgery After Bhooth Bangla Release

Akshay Kumar recently returned to the big screen with Priyadarshan’s horror-comedy Bhooth Bangla. The film managed a decent run at the box office and brought back the actor-director duo that audiences have loved over the years. However, amid the film’s release and his busy shooting schedule, reports have now surfaced claiming that the actor recently underwent a minor eye procedure.

According to a report by Hindustan Times, Akshay underwent vision correction surgery on May 6. The report further stated that the actor is currently taking a short break from work to recover after wrapping up the Kerala schedule of his upcoming film with director Anees Bazmee. The untitled project reportedly also stars Vidya Balan and Raashii Khanna in pivotal roles.

Interestingly, just a day before the reported surgery, Akshay had shared a cheerful update from the sets of the film. Posting a picture with Vidya Balan and Raashii Khanna on social media, the actor expressed his excitement after completing the Kerala leg of the shoot.

“Keralam schedule wrapped! Nothing beats working with good people in a beautiful place. Big love to our director Anees Bazmee for the madness behind the camera and to my incredible co-stars Vidya, Raashii, Chota Rajpal and the entire crew! This one’s been special,” Akshay wrote.

Despite taking a brief break, the actor has remained active on social media. On World Laughter Day, Akshay shared a compilation of funny moments from his films and encouraged fans to keep smiling and spreading joy.

Apart from Bhooth Bangla, Akshay Kumar has an interesting lineup ahead. The actor is set to feature in films like Welcome to the Jungle, Haiwaan and Golmaal 5. While fans continue to wait for official announcements regarding some of his upcoming projects, one film that keeps generating massive curiosity is Hera Pheri 3.
