The release calendar for Bollywood films continues to shift as makers respond to evolving circumstances and industry dynamics. The upcoming romantic comedy Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai, directed by David Dhawan, has now been postponed by a week.
Originally slated to release in theatres on June 5, the film will now arrive on June 12, 2026. The decision was confirmed by the makers through an official statement shared on social media by Tips Films along with the film’s lead cast.
The film stars Varun Dhawan alongside Mrunal Thakur and Pooja Hegde in leading roles.
In their statement, the makers explained that the film’s original release date had been announced months earlier. However, after recent developments and the prevailing global situation, the team felt it would be more appropriate to adjust the schedule.
The note also highlighted the importance of cooperation within the film industry. According to the statement, filmmakers benefit when they support each other rather than competing for the same release date. With this approach in mind, the makers decided to shift the film’s release by a week.
Interestingly, the title Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai draws inspiration from a popular line in Biwi No.1, which starred Salman Khan, Sushmita Sen, and Karisma Kapoor. Apart from Varun Dhawan, Mrunal Thakur, and Pooja Hegde, the film also features Chunky Panday, Mouni Roy, Rohit Saraf, and Jimmy Sheirgill in key roles.
With its updated release date, the film is now set to reach theatres on June 12, giving audiences a fresh romantic comedy to look forward to this summer.
