The 50th edition of the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) is currently underway, bringing together global cinema enthusiasts, industry stalwarts, and a stellar lineup of films. Among the notable highlights this year is the strong presence of Bollywood stars who turned heads with their glamorous appearances at the prestigious event.
TIFF 2025, which commenced on September 4 and will conclude on September 14, featured screenings of acclaimed Indian films such as Neeraj Ghaywan’s Homebound and Anurag Kashyap’s Bandar. Alongside cinematic celebrations, the festival also witnessed some high-fashion moments as Indian actors and actresses made their way down the red carpet in stunning ensembles.
Actress Janhvi Kapoor was a showstopper at the Homebound premiere, donning a resham sari by the legendary designers Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla. Her sari, inspired by the intricate colours and motifs of Jamavar, was paired with an antique shawl, giving her an elegant and traditional charm. Later at the gala event, Janhvi embraced a contemporary look with a custom-made black-and-white polka dot Miu Miu sari gown, blending Indian grace with modern flair.
Huma Qureshi, attending for the screening of her crime drama Bayaan, stunned in a regal, floor-length red gown adorned with intricate gold embroidery at the high neckline. Her appearance exuded sophistication, while she also kept it casual during a daytime stroll around Toronto, sporting a chic denim top paired with a brown skirt.
Actor Ishaan Khattar, who stars in Homebound, looked effortlessly stylish in a sleeveless shirt complemented by beige trousers and sleek sunglasses, radiating a relaxed yet dapper vibe. Alongside him, Vishal Jethwa, another Homebound cast member, kept it classic and understated in an all-black ensemble.
Sanya Malhotra embraced elegance in a satin silver dress with a fitted bodice, topped with a matching dupatta featuring a prominent gold border that added a touch of opulence to her look.
This year’s TIFF has not only been a celebration of storytelling and cinematic craft but also a platform for Bollywood stars to showcase their fashion sensibilities on a global stage. As the festival draws to a close on September 14, the spotlight on Indian cinema and its rising stars continues to shine bright.
