Tamannaah Bhatia on Ghafoor: Shooting a Dance Song in One Day Was Magical

Tamannaah Bhatia is on a career high once again — and this time, it’s the infectious rhythm of Ghafoor from Aryan Khan’s The Ba**ds of Bollywood* that has audiences hooked. The song, choreographed by the ever-iconic Farah Khan, has set the internet ablaze, not just for its energy but also for Tamannaah’s commanding screen presence. For the actress, it marks her first collaboration with debutant filmmaker Aryan Khan, and she couldn’t be more effusive about the experience.

“He (Aryan) is super clear and perceptive,” Tamannaah shared, reflecting on the shoot. “His first show got a lot of love. Ghafoor was a lot of fun, and we had the luxury of Farah Khan choreographing us — she’s a genius. I shot this song in a day. I’ve never done this before. It was magic because they knew exactly what they were shooting. I truly believe that filming a dance number in a single day is an ambitious feat. We managed it because of Farah, Ravivarman (the cinematographer), and Aryan calling the shots.”

The actress’s admiration for Aryan Khan’s clarity and confidence behind the camera echoes the growing curiosity surrounding Shah Rukh Khan’s son as a filmmaker. The Ba**ds of Bollywood*, now streaming on Netflix, features a stellar ensemble including Bobby Deol, Mona Singh, Sahher Bambba, and Lakshya, among others.

For Tamannaah, Ghafoor is yet another testament to her versatility as a performer — a blend of grace, precision, and power. Over the years, she has carved a space for herself as one of Indian cinema’s most dependable dancers, delivering hits like Aaj Ki Raat, Kaavaalaa, and Achacho before lighting up the screen with Ghafoor.

But beyond dance and glamour, Tamannaah is ready to push boundaries. “I definitely want to do something in the action space — that’s something I really aspire to. I’d also love to be part of an adventure film. I think that genre hasn’t been explored enough, and it excites me,” she said, hinting at an exciting new phase in her career.

Balancing a strong OTT presence with her film commitments, Tamannaah was last seen in the web series Do You Wanna Partner alongside Diana Penty. Her upcoming slate includes O’ Romeo, Ranger, Vvan, and a yet-untitled film with Rohit Shetty — a director known for his high-octane action spectacles, perfectly in sync with the kind of roles she now seeks.

As Ghafoor continues to dominate playlists and screens, Tamannaah Bhatia stands as proof that reinvention and rhythm go hand in hand. Whether it’s in the pulse of a dance number or the adrenaline of an action sequence, she’s clearly moving to the beat of her own ambition — and audiences are more than happy to follow.
