On Raksha Bandhan, Shweta Singh Kirti paid a deeply emotional homage to her late brother, actor Sushant Singh Rajput, capturing their bond in a touching post. She shared a video montage blending moments from Sushant’s childhood, family gatherings, and cherished memories with loved ones, accompanied by a moving message about love, loss, and hope.
In her note, Shweta reflected on the feeling that her brother’s presence still lingers, as if he is just out of sight, silently watching over her. But that comfort, she admitted, is swiftly replaced by the piercing realisation that his laughter and voice now live only in memory. She described her grief as deeply personal and impossible to fully articulate—something that quietly grows with each passing day, revealing the fragility of life and the impermanence of earthly attachments.
Even in her sorrow, Shweta expressed faith that they will meet again “beyond time and stories,” in a space where souls connect through the unspoken language of love rather than names. Until that day, she wrote, she will continue to tie a Rakhi for him in her heart, sending prayers for his peace, happiness, and light. Signing off as “Gudia Di,” she ended her tribute with a personal, affectionate farewell.
Sushant Singh Rajput passed away in Mumbai on June 14, 2020. The postmortem report cited asphyxia as the cause of death, with initial investigations concluding suicide. His parents later filed a case alleging abetment to suicide against his then-girlfriend, Rhea Chakraborty, who was granted bail in related matters. Earlier this year, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) stated in its report that Rhea was not responsible for his death.
Shweta’s heartfelt message drew a wave of compassion from fans and followers, many of whom left prayers and words of support. For countless people, her tribute served as a reminder of the unbreakable connection between siblings and the enduring nature of grief long after the world stops watching.
