Paresh Rawal starring “Sharmaji Namkeen” resumes shoot, might release on Rishi Kapoor’s birth anniversary

Veteran actor Paresh Rawal will be seen next in Hitesh Bhatia directed “Sharmaji Namkeen.” It’s expected to release on the birth anniversary of legendary actor Rishi Kapoor. Interestingly, the film earlier starred Rishi Kapoor in lead and most of the scenes were shot before his sudden demise.

Along with that, owing to the sudden hit of the pandemic, the makers have to put a stay on the filming. There was also considerable tension among the makers when Rishi Kapoor passed just a few days before the completion of the shoot. The makers also contemplated using advanced visual effects instead of replacing the late actor.

However, that idea was dropped and Paresh Rawal stepped into the late actor’s shoes to complete the movie.

Paresh Rawal along with actor Satish Kumar has already completed some portions of the shoot in March this year. But when another lockdown was imposed in the state, the shoot went on hold again.

With unlocking having begun in most parts of India, the shooting has once again gone on the floor. The team has resumed the shoot. A major chunk of important scenes for the movie has been shot at a school in Delhi.

According to the director, after a week’s shoot, they will call it a wrap for “Sharmaji Namkeen”. Actor Satish Kaushik, Juhi Chawla, and Suhail Nayyar will also be seen sharing screen with Paresh Rawal in the movie.

The makers are now planning to release this movie on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Rishi Kapoor. The actor passed away last year on April 30, fighting a long and brave battle with cancer.

The plot of the movie revolves around a 60-year-old man who is on the journey of exploring the happiness of life post-retirement.
