Shah Rukh Khan to Pause ‘King’ Shoot Ahead of National Award Ceremony

Shah Rukh Khan, who is currently filming for the highly anticipated movie King, directed by Siddharth Anand, may be taking a short hiatus from the shoot. This project marks the second collaboration between the superstar and the filmmaker after the massive success of Pathaan.

According to Pinkvilla sources, Shah Rukh Khan will pause his work on King after returning from Poland to prepare for the National Award ceremony. The 71st National Awards recently announced Shah Rukh Khan as the winner of the Best Actor award for his performance in Jawan.

Jawan, directed by Atlee, showcased SRK in dual roles as father and son, further cementing his reputation as one of Bollywood’s most versatile actors.

In other updates related to King, Shah Rukh Khan recently made headlines when a fan snapped a photo of him outside a Mumbai restaurant. In the viral image, the superstar was seen in a crisp white shirt, sporting a salt-and-pepper hairstyle and black sunglasses. While fans excitedly shared the photo, SRK’s team urged everyone to refrain from posting it online to preserve the magic of the film.

Looking ahead, King—which was initially slated for a 2026 release—may now hit screens in 2027. The film boasts a stellar ensemble including Suhana Khan, Deepika Padukone, Rani Mukerji, and Abhishek Bachchan alongside SRK. Fans are eagerly awaiting the high-octane action and dramatic moments that the movie promises, especially after the superstar’s recent cinematic triumphs.

With the National Award recognition adding another feather to his illustrious career, Shah Rukh Khan’s fans have plenty to celebrate while awaiting his next big screen outing.
