Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love & War Faces Delay, Release Pushed to Late 2026

Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ambitious project, Love & War, starring Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, and Vicky Kaushal, is facing yet another schedule disruption, according to recent reports. The film, which began shooting in November 2024, was initially slated for a December 2025 release. However, production delays have pushed the timeline significantly.

The makers had previously announced an Eid 2026 release, but with the latest extension, the movie may now hit screens later in the year. Sources reveal that Bhansali has extended the shoot schedule until May 2026, leaving the lead actors’ calendars blocked until then. As a result, several of their prior commitments have been postponed.

Industry insiders suggest that while June 2026 was considered as a tentative release, Bhansali is now reportedly eyeing an August or September 2026 release window. This delay has reportedly caused some concern among the team of Ramayana, who had hoped for a six-month gap between the two projects. Additionally, the extended production schedule is expected to impact the overall budget of Love & War.

Meanwhile, fans can look forward to the first look of the actors, set to be unveiled in January 2026. The only glimpse into the ongoing shoot so far came from Alia Bhatt, who shared a celebratory photo with Vicky Kaushal, Ranbir Kapoor, and Bhansali. The image was taken during a brief break from night shoots to celebrate the director’s birthday and the box office success of Vicky Kaushal’s Chhaava.

With the extended shoot, fans may have to wait a little longer to witness Bhansali’s next spectacle on the big screen, but anticipation continues to build around the film’s grand scale and star-studded cast.
