Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar: The Revenge Set For JioHotstar Release After Record Box Office Run

Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar: The Revenge is not just a box office success; it has turned into a full-blown cinematic phenomenon. With packed theatres, roaring word of mouth, and record-smashing numbers both in India and overseas, Aditya Dhar’s high-octane spy thriller has emerged as one of the biggest Indian films of the year. Now, as the film continues its dream run on the big screen, fans are already waiting for the next big announcement- its OTT release.

Although the makers have not yet confirmed an official streaming date, the film’s first-look poster has already dropped a major clue. The presence of the JioHotstar logo on the poster strongly suggests that Dhurandhar: The Revenge will premiere on the platform after completing its theatrical run. Meanwhile, the film’s satellite rights have reportedly been acquired by Star Gold, paving the way for its eventual television premiere as well.

Interestingly, the first film in the franchise, Dhurandhar, is currently available on Netflix, making the sequel’s digital move to JioHotstar even more notable for fans following the franchise closely.

Released in theatres on March 19, 2026, with paid previews on March 18, the film arrived during the festive period of Ugadi and Gudi Padwa, and has since enjoyed an extraordinary run at the ticket windows. In just 21 days, the film has crossed a staggering Rs 1,041 crore in India, while its worldwide gross has soared past Rs 1,640 crore, cementing its position as a historic blockbuster.

Directed and written by Aditya Dhar, the action-packed sequel features a powerful ensemble cast led by Ranveer Singh, alongside Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal, R Madhavan, Akshaye Khanna, Rakesh Bedi, and Sara Arjun. The film’s scale, performances, and gripping spy-thriller narrative have clearly struck a chord with audiences across markets.

What makes the film’s global performance even more remarkable is its strong overseas showing despite not releasing in Gulf markets. According to trade reports, the film has earned over USD 26 million in North America and more than USD 15 million in other international territories, helping it climb into the list of the top 10 highest-grossing films of the year worldwide.

As per trade tracking portal Sacnilk, Dhurandhar: The Revenge has crossed USD 177 million globally, overtaking the Chinese animated feature Boonie Bears: The Hidden Protector to enter the elite global list. The film currently stands among the year’s top international performers, alongside titles like Pegasus 3, Project Hail Mary, The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, and GOAT.

While the OTT release date remains under wraps, industry trends suggest that Indian theatrical releases often arrive on streaming platforms after an eight-week window. However, given Dhurandhar: The Revenge’s exceptional hold at the box office even in its third week, the makers may choose to extend its theatrical run before bringing it to digital audiences.
