Rajkummar Rao to Star in Amazon MGM Studios’ Upcoming Film ‘Raftaar’

Speed has always been at the heart of ambition—how fast one can rise, build, and conquer. In Raftaar, the upcoming theatrical film from Amazon MGM Studios, Rajkummar Rao takes on a role that explores exactly that relentless pursuit. Slated to release in cinemas on 24 July 2026, the film promises a gripping look into a world where success moves quickly—and the fall can be just as swift.

Directed by Aditya Nimbalkar and produced by Patralekhaa under the banner of Kampa Film, Raftaar is executive produced by Tarun Bali with story and screenplay by Rohan Narula.

At the center of the story is Rajkummar Rao’s character—a man propelled by fierce determination and an unyielding belief in his vision. Set against the high-stakes ecosystem of a rapidly rising start-up, the narrative follows his climb through a world where ambition can build empires overnight. For Rao’s character, success isn’t merely a destination; it is a race that demands constant acceleration.

But Raftaar isn’t just about the thrill of winning. It is about the cost that comes with it.

Opposite Rao, Keerthy Suresh plays an equally ambitious woman whose relationship with him forms the emotional core of the film. Together, they embody two individuals driven by dreams of success, yet forced to confront how the hunger for power and recognition begins to strain their bond.

As money, influence, and greed begin to spiral, the intoxicating rise of the start-up world slowly reveals its darker side. In this race for dominance, personal relationships, loyalty, and love are pushed to their limits. What begins as a shared journey toward success soon turns into a test of resilience and survival.

The film also features a compelling ensemble cast including Anurag Thakur, Rohan Verma, Tanya Maniktala, and Rajat Kapoor in pivotal roles, adding further depth to this fast-paced narrative.

With Rajkummar Rao anchoring the story, Raftaar explores the psychology of ambition in a modern entrepreneurial world—where speed fuels success but can just as easily trigger collapse. After the dizzying climb comes the inevitable fall, and the question that lingers: can those who once ruled the race find the strength to rise again?

Raftaar, an Amazon MGM Studios film, will hit theatres on 24 July 2026.
