Paresh Rawal Reveals Why He Walked Away from ‘Drishyam 3’

Veteran actor Paresh Rawal has revealed why he decided to step away from Drishyam 3, even as the film gears up for its Hindi and Malayalam releases starring Ajay Devgn and Mohanlal. The 70-year-old, known for his comic timing and negative roles, said the part offered to him just didn’t excite him.

In a candid statement to Bollywood Hungama, Rawal said, “Yes, the makers did approach me. But I didn’t feel that the role was suitable for me. Maza nahin aaya. The script is very good, and I was impressed, but even a strong script needs a role that excites you. Warna maza nahin aayega.” He clarified that his decision wasn’t a criticism of the script or makers, praising both for their work.

Earlier, rumors suggested Rawal had already joined the project, but his exit leaves questions about which role he was offered and who will replace him. Meanwhile, the Hindi version stars Ajay Devgn and Shriya Saran, with the teaser expected soon after delays.

Adding to the buzz, reports say the Malayalam creators, Antony and Jeethu, enforced a clause preventing the Hindi team from revealing details without permission. This reportedly came after the Hindi release date of October 2, 2026, was announced prematurely.

Fans are now waiting eagerly to see how the Hindi and Malayalam versions unfold, both on-screen and behind the scenes.
