The saga around Hera Pheri 3 has kept fans on tenterhooks, and veteran actor Paresh Rawal has finally set the record straight. Back in May, Paresh shocked audiences and the film’s team by announcing his decision to step away from the iconic comedy franchise. This unexpected exit even triggered a legal notice from co-star Akshay Kumar, who reprises his role as Raju. But the latest update is nothing short of good news for the millions who adore Baburao Ganpatrao Apte — Paresh is back on board.
In a recent interview with News18, Paresh shared updates about the much-anticipated sequel, revealing, “The film is still in progress. We are planning to begin shooting around February-March next year.” While his temporary exit had fueled speculation about friction with director Priyadarshan, Paresh clarified the situation.
“A lot has happened, but it hasn’t affected my bond with Priyadarshan. Aise rishta kharab nahi hota hai. On the contrary, these events have strengthened our understanding. We now know each other more clearly and deeply. The wounds have healed. Our relationship is very transparent,” the actor explained.
Excitingly for fans, Paresh also hinted at a potential spin-off focusing on his beloved character, Babu Bhaiya. He emphasized that any standalone film would need Suniel Shetty as Shyam and Akshay Kumar as Raju to maintain the essence of the original trilogy. “I’m not a greedy actor, nor am I naive. I don’t believe the world revolves around me. Even if a solo project happens in the future, Shyam and Raju must be part of it,” he added.
The news comes as a relief to Hera Pheri fans, who have long been eagerly waiting to see the original trio back on screen. With Paresh Rawal reaffirming his commitment and the promise of the iconic characters together, Hera Pheri 3 is shaping up to deliver the laughter and nostalgia audiences have been longing for.
While the official shooting is scheduled for early next year, the buzz around a potential Baburao spin-off only adds to the excitement. Whether it’s the original trio’s chemistry or the chance to dive deeper into Babu Bhaiya’s world, the Hera Pheri universe continues to promise a dose of comedy gold.
