OMG 3 in the Works: Akshay Kumar Returns for Bigger, Bolder Installment

The beloved Oh My God franchise is officially set to expand. Director Amit Rai revealed during a recent media interaction that OMG 3 is currently in development and will surpass the scale of its predecessors. Akshay Kumar will reprise his role while also producing the film, with pre-production already underway.

Rai, who helmed OMG 2—a sequel to the 2012 satirical hit starring Kumar and Paresh Rawal—earned praise for blending entertainment with social commentary. The second installment, led by Pankaj Tripathi alongside Kumar, Yami Gautam, Pavan Malhotra, and Govind Namdev, addressed the subject of sex education, sparking nationwide discussions.

The filmmaker has spoken highly of Kumar’s creative involvement, noting how the actor memorized entire scenes after a single narration, improvised several moments, and suggested tweaks to avoid unnecessary controversy.

While work on OMG 3 continues, Rai has reunited with Pankaj Tripathi for another socially conscious drama featuring Pawan Malhotra, Geeta Agarwal, Rajesh Kumar, and talents from the Bhojpuri film industry.

Meanwhile, Kumar is gearing up for the release of Jolly LLB 3. The newly released teaser promises another courtroom comedy-drama, bringing him back alongside Arshad Warsi and Saurabh Shukla for the franchise’s signature mix of humor and biting legal wit.
