Hrithik Roshan’s Unfiltered Review of Dhurandhar Wins the Internet

Ranveer Singh’s latest release Dhurandhar, directed by Aditya Dhar, continues to generate strong conversation online and within the industry. While audiences have been divided—some applauding the film’s performances, narrative construction, and music, and others offering mixed reactions—the spy thriller has nevertheless made a notable mark at the box office.

Amid this growing chatter, Hrithik Roshan has emerged as one of the film’s most prominent supporters. The actor shared his thoughts on Instagram, commending the artistic choices behind Dhurandhar while simultaneously acknowledging that he does not align with the film’s political messaging.

In his first post, Roshan wrote, “I love cinema, I love people who climb into a vortex and let the story take control, spin them, shake them until what they want to say is purged out of them onto that screen. Dhurandhar is an example of that. Loved the storytelling. It’s cinema.”
He added, “I may disagree with the politics of it, and argue about the responsibilities us filmmakers should bear as citizens of the world. Nevertheless, can’t ignore how much I loved and learnt from this one as a student of cinema.”

The actor followed this with another post earlier today, doubling down on his appreciation for the film’s craftsmanship. “Still can’t get Dhurandhar out of my mind,” he wrote. “@adityadharfilms you are an incredible maker. @ranveersingh — the silent to the fierce — what a journey and so damn consistent. #akshayekhanna has always been my fav and this film is proof why. @actormaddy — grace, strength and dignity. But man @rakeshbedi what you did was phenomenal… what an ACT, brilliant! A huge round of applause for everyone, especially the makeup and prosthetics department. I can’t wait for part 2.”

Roshan’s candour has prompted widespread reaction online. Many social media users praised the actor for being open about not relating to the film’s ideological underpinnings while still recognising its cinematic strengths.

While some believe Roshan’s remarks may spark debate, the broader sentiment across platforms appears to favour his honesty. Many noted that his response underscores his long-standing respect for filmmaking as a craft and his willingness to acknowledge compelling work—even when he disagrees with aspects of it.

With Dhurandhar continuing to attract both acclaim and discussion, Roshan’s comments add an influential industry perspective to the ongoing conversation, affirming the film’s cultural moment while highlighting the value of openness in artistic discourse.
