The much-anticipated action film GOAT, directed by Venkat Prabhu and starring South Indian superstar Vijay, witnessed a dip in its box office earnings on its second day. Despite an impressive start, the film saw a notable decline in collections on Friday across multiple languages.

According to early estimates from Sacnilk.com, GOAT grossed around ₹24.75 crore on Friday. This includes ₹22 crore from Tamil, ₹1.5 crore from Hindi, and ₹1.25 crore from Telugu versions. Compared to its opening day, when it earned a staggering ₹44 crore (with ₹39.15 crore from Tamil, ₹1.85 crore from Hindi, and ₹3 crore from Telugu), the drop was significant. So far, the film has amassed ₹68.75 crore in India in two days, with ₹61.15 crore from Tamil, ₹3.35 crore from Hindi, and ₹4.25 crore from Telugu. The film also recorded an overall Tamil occupancy rate of 60.38% on Friday, indicating strong audience engagement in its core market.

Set in a period science fiction universe, GOAT has generated considerable buzz due to its unique concept and Vijay’s dynamic portrayal of a double role. He plays both a father and a son, with the latter depicted as a field agent and spy known for his impeccable track record of 65 successful operations.

In addition to Vijay’s powerful lead, GOAT features an ensemble cast, including Prashanth, Prabhudheva, Sneha, Ajmal Ameer, Vaibhav, Laila, Mohan, Aravind Akash, Ajay Raj, Meenakshi Chaudhary, Yogi Babu, Premgi Amaren, Yugendran, and VTV Ganesh. Each actor adds depth to the film’s narrative, contributing to its wide appeal across demographics.

The film’s production, handled by Kalpathi S Aghoram, Kalpathi S Ganesh, and Kalpathi S Suresh of AGS Entertainment, further amplifies its grandeur, marking GOAT as a visual spectacle. With its mix of period drama, science fiction, and action-packed sequences, GOAT promises to be one of the major cinematic highlights of the year.

Although the box office numbers dipped on Day 2, the film continues to enjoy strong traction, particularly in Tamil-speaking regions. It remains to be seen how the film will fare over the weekend and if it can regain momentum with positive word-of-mouth and fan support. Given Vijay’s immense fan base and the film’s high production values, GOAT is expected to pick up steam as it enters its first weekend.

The coming days will be crucial in determining the film’s overall box office trajectory. However, with its blend of star power, intriguing plotlines, and a multi-language release, GOAT remains a film to watch this season.
