‘Dhurandhar’ to Return to Theatres Worldwide Ahead of Sequel Release

Ahead of the release of Dhurandhar: The Revenge, the makers have decided to bring the first installment, Dhurandhar, back to the big screen. The re-release aims to give audiences a chance to revisit the story before the sequel arrives in cinemas on March 19, 2026.

The film is set for a global theatrical re-release beginning March 13, with screenings across approximately 500 screens worldwide. Of these, around 250 screens in India will begin showing the film from March 12, while another 250 screens overseas will start from March 13.

For fans of the franchise, the move offers a rare opportunity to experience the story again on the big screen and seamlessly continue the journey with the sequel just days later. The makers believe this approach will allow viewers to enjoy the narrative as a two-part cinematic experience.

Although re-releases of popular films have occasionally taken place in India, worldwide re-releases of Hindi films remain relatively uncommon. However, director Aditya Dhar and the production team decided to reintroduce Dhurandhar globally due to the strong demand for the film across international markets. In fact, the film will return to theatres across nearly 185 screens in North America alone, reflecting the growing anticipation for the next chapter of the franchise.

Meanwhile, the sequel will also receive special early screenings overseas. Dhurandhar: The Revenge is set to host Wednesday premiere shows on March 18 across the United States and Canada, a day before its official release. Many of these screenings will take place on Premium Large Format (PLF) screens, which are known for their expansive wall-to-wall display and immersive viewing experience.

The film will release worldwide in five languages — Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada. With the original film returning to theatres and the sequel arriving shortly after, audiences will have the chance to experience the spy-action saga on the big screen once again before its story unfolds further in the next chapter.
