Filmmaker Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandhar: The Revenge has made a strong impact at the box office since its release on March 19. The film opened to record-breaking numbers and continues to perform well both in India and globally.
Amid the film’s success, actor Kangana Ranaut shared a note appreciating Aditya Dhar and his work. Taking to Instagram, she said that the biggest takeaway from the film’s success is the recognition of the director.
She wrote that filmmakers in India often do not get enough credit compared to actors. Referring to international directors like Steven Spielberg, Quentin Tarantino and Christopher Nolan, Kangana said that in Hollywood, directors are often bigger than actors, which is not the case in India.
Kangana also spoke about the challenges faced by filmmakers. She said that many are overworked and underpaid, and that young people today are more focused on becoming actors rather than working behind the camera. According to her, Aditya Dhar’s success could inspire a new generation to explore filmmaking and other technical roles in the industry.
Along with Kangana, several well-known names from the film industry have also praised the director. S. S. Rajamouli appreciated the film for its strong execution, while Rakesh Roshan said it marks a new phase in filmmaking. Actors like Ram Charan, Mahesh Babu and Allu Arjun also shared their support.
Dhurandhar: The Revenge features a large cast including Ranveer Singh, Arjun Rampal, R. Madhavan, Sanjay Dutt and Sara Arjun. The film is a sequel to the 2025 hit Dhurandhar and explores the backstory of Ranveer Singh’s character, showing his journey into the world of espionage and his rise to power.
The film has received positive reviews from both critics and audiences. It opened with a strong collection of ₹146 crore in India and ₹240 crore worldwide. So far, it has crossed ₹370 crore globally and continues to perform steadily at the box office.
With strong word of mouth and industry support, Dhurandhar: The Revenge is emerging as one of the biggest hits of the year.
