Celebrate Makara Sankranti 2026 with a Traditional Harvest Feast at Sheraton Grand Bangalore

There is something deeply poetic about the harvest season—a time when the earth rests after months of labour, granaries brim with promise, and families come together in gratitude. Makara Sankranti, with its quiet symbolism of renewal and abundance, is not merely a festival but an emotion rooted in tradition, warmth, and shared meals. This January, Sheraton Grand Bangalore Hotel at Brigade Gateway invites guests to pause, reflect, and celebrate this cherished moment through an exquisite culinary experience at its all-day dining restaurant, Feast.

Honouring the spirit of the season, the hotel presents a specially curated Makara Sankranti celebration that draws inspiration from regional harvest traditions and seasonal produce. The experience is designed to evoke nostalgia while offering refined comfort—bringing together age-old flavours and contemporary presentation in a setting that encourages togetherness.

As the harvest season unfolds, Chef Sajid Patel and his culinary team have crafted an exclusive menu that pays homage to freshly harvested ingredients and mindful cooking practices. Rooted in tradition and shaped by seasonal influences, the offerings reflect the essence of the land and the wisdom of time-honoured culinary customs.

The menu highlights signature festive delicacies such as Ellu Bella, a quintessential Sankranti preparation made with sesame seeds, jaggery, coconut, peanuts, and fried gram—each ingredient symbolising prosperity and harmony. Guests can also indulge in an array of Avarekai (hyacinth bean) specialties, including comforting curries and crisp dosas that celebrate Karnataka’s beloved winter produce. Complementing the spread are refreshing lassis and soothing warm milk-based beverages, offering a wholesome and satisfying conclusion to the festive meal.

Feast will host Makara Sankranti Feast Dinners from 11th to 16th January 2026, while a special Sankranti Brunch will be served exclusively on 14th January 2026. Whether gathering with family or reconnecting with friends, guests are invited to immerse themselves in the warmth of the season, savour meaningful flavours, and honour the harvest with heartfelt gratitude.
