The legendary singer passed away at the age of 92 on Sunday, a day after being admitted to Breach Candy Hospital due to a chest infection and exhaustion.

Tributes poured in from all corners, reflecting not just admiration for her artistry but also the deep personal connections she forged over the years.

Veteran actress Hema Malini expressed her disbelief and sorrow, recalling her long association with Asha Bhosle. She described her as someone “full of life,” whose voice added unmatched vibrancy and character to songs. Hema also highlighted the singer’s contribution to her own cinematic journey, calling her loss irreplaceable for both Maharashtra and the nation.

Music maestro A. R. Rahman paid homage with a simple yet powerful note, saying her voice and aura would live on forever. Echoing similar sentiments, Shankar Mahadevan wrote that she would continue to live in hearts eternally.

Filmmaker Karan Johar remembered her as a once in a lifetime artist, stating that calling her a legend would be an understatement. He credited her voice for defining not just one era but an entire cinematic universe, adding that her music would remain immortal.

Actress Kajol shared an emotional note, reflecting on Asha Bhosle’s larger than life personality and unmatched ability to infuse emotion into every song. Meanwhile, her son Anand Bhosle confirmed details of her final rites. He stated that those wishing to pay their last respects can visit her residence, Casa Grande in Lower Parel, at 11 am, while the last rites will be conducted at Shivaji Park at 4 pm.

Asha Bhosle’s passing marks the end of a golden era, but the resonance of her voice remains eternal. In every melody, every lyric, and every memory, she continues to live on—an unmatched legacy that time will never fade.
