Anushka Shetty has announced that she is stepping away from social media for a while, sharing her intentions to “reconnect with the world and work beyond the scrolling.” The 43-year-old shared a heartfelt handwritten note on Instagram on Friday, writing:
“Trading blue light to candle light… Will be stepping away from social media for a bit, just to reconnect to the world and work beyond the scrolling, to where we all actually started. See you all soon with more stories and more love…. Always forever… Smile always. Love, Anushka Shetty.”
The actress’s decision comes shortly after the release of her latest film, Ghati, which hit theatres on September 5. The crime thriller, directed by Krish Jagarlamudi, is produced by Rajeev Reddy and Sai Babu Jagarlamudi under the banner of First Frame Entertainments.
Anushka Shetty has long been celebrated for her performances in films like Arundhati (2009), Vettaikaaran (2009), Singam (2010), Singam II (2013), and Yennai Arindhaal (2015). She received widespread acclaim for her portrayal of Princess Devasena in the Baahubali film series (2015–17), solidifying her position as one of Indian cinema’s most versatile and loved actresses.
Looking ahead, Shetty will next appear in the Malayalam superhero horror film Kathanar: The Wild Sorcerer, adding another intriguing chapter to her diverse career.
While fans will miss her social media updates, her message promises a return “with more stories and more love,” reaffirming her connection with her admirers even during this brief pause.
