Akshay Kumar, Paresh Rawal Recreate Cult Comedy Magic in ‘Bhooth Bangla’ Teaser

The much-awaited teaser of Bhooth Bangla has finally been unveiled, giving audiences a glimpse into a quirky world where horror meets humour. Headlined by Akshay Kumar, the film marks the actor’s reunion with director Priyadarshan after a gap of 14 years—an association that previously delivered some of Bollywood’s most beloved comedy classics.

The teaser sets the stage for an unusual story unfolding in the mysterious town of Mangalpur, where a dark curse looms large. According to the brief glimpses revealed in the teaser, the town is haunted by a ghost named Vadhusur, who is believed to target newly married women. As a result, locals discourage bachelors from getting married or bringing their brides to the town, creating a bizarre and chaotic situation.

Akshay Kumar appears visibly tense as he navigates the strange happenings in Mangalpur, while the teaser hints at a mix of supernatural intrigue and comic confusion. The banter between Akshay and Paresh Rawal stands out as one of the highlights, echoing the comic chemistry that audiences have loved in their previous collaborations.

Adding to the film’s charm is an ensemble cast that blends nostalgia with fresh energy. Actors Tabu and Wamiqa Gabbi bring their own unique presence to the story, while Rajpal Yadav delivers his signature comedic flair. The teaser also features the late Asrani, whose brief appearance evokes nostalgia for fans of classic Bollywood comedies.

Visually lively and packed with witty punchlines, the teaser focuses more on the film’s comic tone while keeping its horror elements largely under wraps. The result is a curious blend of laughter, suspense and eccentric characters that hints at a full-fledged entertainer.

The collaboration between Akshay Kumar and Priyadarshan has historically produced cult favourites such as Hera Pheri, Garam Masala, Bhagam Bhag and Bhool Bhulaiyaa. With Bhooth Bangla, the duo appears to revisit that signature brand of situational comedy and eccentric storytelling that once defined an era of Bollywood humour.

The film is backed by Balaji Motion Pictures in association with Cape of Good Films. It is produced by Akshay Kumar alongside Shobha Kapoor and Ektaa R Kapoor.

Scheduled for a theatrical release on April 10, 2026, Bhooth Bangla promises to blend nostalgia with modern storytelling, aiming to recreate the charm of Bollywood’s classic comedy era while delivering a spooky twist for today’s audiences.
