Aditya Roy Kapur to Lead Dharma Productions’ Upcoming Horror-Comedy

Aditya Roy Kapur is set to headline a new horror comedy backed by Dharma Productions, marking another collaboration between the actor and the banner. The project signals Dharma’s return to the horror space after films like Kaal and Bhoot – Part One: The Haunted Ship starring Vicky Kaushal and Bhumi Pednekar. While Bhoot – Part One was originally intended to launch a franchise, the series did not move forward after the first installment. Now, the studio is revisiting the genre with a fresh twist through a horror comedy led by Aditya Roy Kapur.

The upcoming film, which is currently untitled, will reportedly blend horror elements with satire and dark humour. Instead of presenting a conventional horror narrative, the story is expected to playfully twist common genre clichés while still delivering suspense and scares. The tone is said to combine campy humour, witty dialogue and exaggerated moments of gore, offering audiences a fresh take on the horror comedy format.

This project will also mark the feature directorial debut of Collin D’Cunha. D’Cunha has previously worked with Dharma’s digital division, Dharmatic Entertainment, directing web series such as Call Me Bae and Do You Wanna Partner?

According to industry reports, the film is currently in the pre production stage. While Aditya Roy Kapur has been confirmed as the lead actor, the makers are still in the process of finalising the rest of the cast. Filming is expected to begin in May 2026.

Aditya has collaborated with Dharma Productions in the past on films like Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, Ok Jaanu and Kalank. However, the new film will see him stepping into a genre that combines horror with comedy and satire, marking a different direction from his earlier projects with the banner.
