The trailer for Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan has finally dropped, drawing attention with its poignant exploration of love between two visually impaired individuals. Starring Vikrant Massey and marking Shanaya Kapoor’s Bollywood debut, the film is set to release in theatres on July 11, the same day as Rajkummar Rao’s Maalik.
Based on Ruskin Bond’s celebrated story The Eyes Have It, the film follows Jahan, a blind musician, and Saba, a theatre artist who keeps her eyes covered with a blindfold. Their paths cross during a train journey, sparking a tender connection that gradually blossoms into love.
The trailer opens with intense glimpses of the two characters expressing a spectrum of emotions—anger, hope, heartbreak—reflecting the complexities within their bond. Despite having feelings for someone else, Saba slowly develops a deep attachment to Jahan. Their growing closeness is captured beautifully, hinting at a romance filled with warmth yet shadowed by challenges.
Conflict soon arises as Saba drifts away, entangled in another relationship, leading to a painful confession to Jahan. The trailer suggests that betrayal and heartbreak test their love, leaving Jahan shattered as he struggles to accept Saba with someone else. The film promises a narrative layered with love, vulnerability, and the ache of separation.
Directed by Santosh Singh and written by Mansi Bagla, the film also features Zain Khan Durrani in a pivotal role. Backed by Zee Studios, Mini Films, and Open Window Films, Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan has been building anticipation through behind-the-scenes glimpses and teaser drops. Shanaya Kapoor recently shared a video from the shoot, where she is seen in a red dress and a puffer jacket while filming in cold weather, with Vikrant Massey offering encouragement on set.
Adding to the excitement, the makers have unveiled a new poster along with a teaser of the film’s title track, sung by Jubin Nautiyal and composed by Vishal Mishra.
Following her debut in this romantic drama, Shanaya Kapoor will also star in Bejoy Nambiar’s survival thriller Tu Yaa Main, alongside Adarsh Gourav.
With its emotional depth and the fresh pairing of Vikrant and Shanaya, Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan is shaping up to be a touching love story that captures the beauty and pain of connection between two souls navigating the world without sight, guided by the heart.
